David C. Lane - inactive attorney, effective February 26, 2021
davidlane@lfrlaw.com

After 38 plus years of practicing law in Delhi, I have decided to retire and have voluntarily filed with the Ohio Supreme Court to become an “inactive” attorney (not engaged in the practice of law) effective February 26, 2021. It has been my privilege to have represented a wide range of clients over the years, but it is now time to step back so that I can spend more time with my family and grandchildren.

The focus of my practice was to represent individuals and business in a variety of consulting, estate planning, real estate, probate and transactional matters. My years of experience in these areas of practice enabled me to simplify complex legal matters, documents and processes in the best interest of my clients. I also served as Law Director to Delhi Township from 1984 to 2018.

I will still remain in contact with the office and my partners, Jeffrey A. Felix and Thomas E. Raisbeck, who will continue the practice and be available to serve you.

I am a 1980 graduate of Taylor High School. I attended Kentucky Wesleyan College in Owensboro, KY, majoring in accounting and history. I worked for two Fortune 500 companies in their accounting departments prior to attending Chase Law School.

Since beginning my practice in 1991, I have concentrated in providing services for divorces, dissolutions, post decree divorce matters for child support, parenting time and enforcement of the Separation Agreement or Court Order and unmarried parenting issues including parenting time and child support.

I provide services in writing wills, living wills, health care power of attorneys and financial power of attorneys. I provide services for handling estates from opening them in Probate Court, providing a schedule of assets and distribution of those assets to the heirs per the will. I also provide estate services for those estates where a will does not exist.

I have experience in the buying and selling of real property. Our office handles cash closings for our clients. We also have a great relationship with a separate title company.

I provide services to clients by forming all types of for-profit corporations. I also work with clients on assumed names and other filings with the State of Ohio.

I provide eviction services for landlords. I help with the proper notice to be served on the tenant, the filing of the lawsuit and attending the Court hearing on the eviction.

I have worked with some small banks and businesses on collection of past due accounts. I provide services from the initial collection letter, the filing of the lawsuit, and all collection efforts after obtaining a judgment.

I also handle auto accident injury cases. I work with the insurance adjusters to negotiate settlements prior to filing a lawsuit if possible. I file all necessary lawsuits, mediate or arbitrate the matter or try the case to a judge or a jury.

I am a 1984 graduate of Highlands High School located in Fort Thomas, Kentucky. Along with my academic accomplishments, I was also a two-time football State Champion. I then attended the University of Kentucky and earned a BBA in 1988. Upon graduation, I attended Chase Law School at Northern Kentucky University and graduated with honors in 1991.

I continue to be a proud Kentucky resident but am just as proud to have had my practice based in Cincinnati since 1994 so that I can serve clients on both sides of the Ohio River.

Since beginning my practice in 1992, I have focused on trial practice. I handle all of our firm’s criminal defense work as well as the bulk of our civil litigation including personal injury cases. I also handle a wide variety of real estate and estate planning matters.

I am a trial attorney at heart and am most at home in the Courthouse. I am typically in a courtroom every morning representing clients charged with criminal and/or traffic offenses in either Ohio or Northern Kentucky. I have successfully defended over 3000+ clients charged with all levels of misdemeanors and felonies in the State and Federal courts.

My experience and ability to assess a case and put it on the right track for resolution is also aided by my good working relationship with the prosecutor's office, law enforcement, the bench and all courthouse staff. These relationships lead to favorable outcomes for my clients.

If you are charged with a criminal offense or have a civil matter, I am available 24/7 to discuss with you your legal rights.

Please contact me for an initial consultation concerning your rights and legal options. Call me before your first court appearance because valuable rights or opportunities could be lost.  DO NOT go to Court without an attorney. Experience counts.
